BBC commemorate marine offences act

40 years after the introduction of the marine offences act in the UK in 1967 the BBC commemorate the historic event with a tribute to the men the Postmaster General Tony Benn Edward Short took off the air (except for Radio Caroline)

do you think RTE will ever commemorate the jamming of Sunshine Radio & Radio Nova?. No, not even if John Clarke is director general, and Ken Hammond is still reading the news.

The Postmaster General who outlawed the pirates in the UK was Edward Short, not Tony Benn, who had been replaced in office by then. Thanks for remembering!

thanks for the correction! im way to young, born in ‘69 but, Benn must have taken delight that these guys were been sunk. I saw his TV jibe about it last week on news24 when BBC Essex Pirate Radio went on air. I also saw Benn in Sicko, and his contribution fell short of my expectation in him.

once again thanks for the correction.
