Pat Kenny – 4 Songs

Published Categorized as radio

Legend Irish broadcaster Pat Kenny has decided to plug his headphones into someone else’s mixer, into a 1/4 inch hole of Denis O’Brien owned Newstalk. Best of luck in the new job Pat.

Here are 4 songs I have strong memories of Pat playing on his radio slot on RTE Radio 1.

Eleanor McEvoy – Leave her now. When I heard it I had to buy it. November 1994.

Beautiful South – Don’t Marry Her (Uncensored) – yes someone cued the wrong version for Pat to play.

The Flying Pickets – Disco Down – not a man for the picket line Pat is a closet Pickets fan. He played this B-side of their UK #1 more than once.

Indigo Girls – Closer to fine – Pat started out in children’s radio in the 1970s, acoustic guitar was the obligatory tool for such entertainment. I would bet money that Pat’s cassette collection has the Indigo Girls indexed a few times.
